Elizabeth I. Kiovsky. Partner, Kiovsky DuWaldt, LLC.

Ms. Kiovsky has represented clients in discrimination matters under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and employee benefits litigation under ERISA and in state law employment related matters. Ms. Kiovsky also regularly advises individuals and businesses on issues such as employee competition, employment contracts, severance negotiations and other employment related matters. Ms. Kiovsky’s previous experience includes the position of Associate General Counsel for Qwest Corporation responsible for employment and labor matters, associate with the law firm Jones Day Reavis and Pogue and membership with the law firm of Sherman & Howard, LLC. She is a mentor with Law School Yes We Can, has assisted first generation high school students with college planning for over 10 years and has acted as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem with Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center. Ms. Kiovsky was selected as a Colorado Super Lawyer numerous times, most recently in 2019 and 2020.

Karen DuWaldt. Partner, Kiovsky DuWaldt, LLC.

Ms. DuWaldt has extensive law firm and in-house experience. From 2003 - 2009, she was Vice President – Associate General Counsel, responsible for all employment, labor, executive compensation and benefits law issues, for a 40,000+ employee Fortune 500 company with employees in nearly every state. Through a combination of proactive advice and training and aggressive cost control measures, Ms. DuWaldt reduced the number of disputes and the company’s expenditures on outside counsel, settlements and judgments. Ms. DuWaldt began her career with Sherman & Howard and Williams, Youle & Koenigs, P.C., practicing employment and commercial litigation. She has been named a Colorado SuperLawyer since 2018. Ms. DuWaldt is dedicated to providing pro bono and service to the community. She currently serves on Denver’s Career Service Board and the board of Into Your Hands Africa. Since 2010, she has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem, representing the interests of children whose parents are involved in domestic violence protection order proceedings. Ms. DuWaldt has provided pro bono legal services to The Gathering Place for 32 years and served on its Board of Directors from 2004-2010.
